Binders for Cosplay
Many cosplayers and performers like to wear a binder to create a more masculine silhouette when portraying characters with a flatter chest than them.
For example, if an AFAB person wanted to cosplay a male character, a binder could help their cosplay look more accurate.
Binders offer versatility for your cosplays! They can be worn underneath your clothes, or on show for characters who often have exposed chests.
Want to get creative? Check out our blog here for how to customise your binder – add distinctive designs, tattoos, or other features to your binder to create a more accurate cosplay!
Can I wear a binder if I'm not trans?
Of course! People of any gender expression, sexuality, or identity can wear a binder - as long as you’re happy, comfortable, and binding safely. Enjoy your new cosplay opportunities!
I've never worn a binder before, what do i need to know?
Please ensure that you always wear the correct size binder (you can find a size guide here), NEVER sleep in a binder or bind for over 8 hours, and if you’re younger than 18, please seek guidance/permission from a
guardian before purchasing and limit binding to 6 hours or less. If you have a medical condition which affects your breathing, such as asthma, or any other condition that a binder may affect, you should consult a doctor before binding.
As you are wearing an extra layer, you can get hot easily in warmer environments (like a busy convention!). Please bear this in mind when planning your cosplays, and make sure to stay hydrated and take breaks when needed.
